Hey there everybody, I'm new to this hobby, and am gonna get my first tank, somewhere around 30 gallons.. Now, I've researched about everything, but I want to know your opinions on what would make my tank succesful. Such as the best salt mix, good powerheads, the best tanks, fish species, ANYTHING!:D
P.S. I have a budget of around $600 for the entire thing! It could be more, but I would need to earn some more cash! :rolleye1:

Look for a used tank and stand might save a couple of bucks. You might get lucky and find a complete setup. This is a very fun hobby and will hook you! Have fun! Maybe start fish only with live rock save some money on lights.

If you have the space, strive for a bigger tank. Minimum 55 gallons. It is easier to maintain water stability in a larger volume of water, and you'll quickly run out of options with a 30 gallon. However a 30 gallon can be quite rewarding. Check in on the Nano Reef forum as well. They can give you the best advice on small tanks. Welcome to Reef Central and Good Luck.
