Ive got two colonies of coral that i cannot track down the name of. They were offered as Elkhorn coral, however they are not acropora palmata as far as growth shapes etc. I do apologize about the quality of the photos. they were taken with a video camera on picture mode. if these are not clear enough ill try to get more when i have access to a nicer digi cam.

Here are the photos the mystery coral is behind the marijuana leaf looking staghorn.

anything close id wise would be very helpful. im trying to catalogue it for my records as i propagate it out.

That's going to be darn near impossible with those pictures. Wild stab in the dark judging on what the corallites look like on a cell phone pic from a distance (IOW, not very clearly) it could be an A. vaughani or similar...but better pictures would make it simpler to narrow it down at least.

Remember that any ID is tentative and a guess at best anyway. About all anyone can say for sure, short of killing the coral and scoping out the skeletal structure, is that it's an Acropora sp.

i believe that is Montipora hirsuta
