Just got this today from fedex. Its a Sunpod 150 watt MH unit with a double end 14 K bulb. It has 8 lunar lights with 4 being blue and the other 4 being white. Has a fan built in and a pretty nice reflector.

Do you think this will be enough light over like a 40 gallon cube that has a Heteractis Crispa?

Do you have pics with it on the tank?

I run the same fixture on my 55 but the 48" version with 2x150w 14k. I like it alot and I'm getting good growth and coloration on my SPS. It is on for a 7 hour photoperiod and I have no heat issues. Tank stays 79-80.

I have the 36" 2x150 on my 40 breeder and love it.

I am thinking of getting this light in the 250 watt for a 24" high 45 gal. Do you feel the 14 K is blue enough? Are the ballasts electronic?

Do you feel the 14 K is blue enough?

yes but this is also a personal preference thing i think its blue enough but someon who likes 20k's or has t5 actininc supplimental lighting might not think it is

Are the ballasts electronic?
yes..

but the bulb will need replacing eventually, im not familliar with 250w market so the options there might be something to consider..

For those that have this light fixture, could some of you post pics of your tanks so I can get an idea of what the spectrum looks like. Thanks.

Same here; I did have to go through 3 fixtures until I got one that worked correctly though, the first had a very noisy fan, the second had a bad ballast but the 3 has been just fine. Just glad I got it from a stand up company who had no issues with the returns. I have been very happy with the light fixture overall.

Here it is on my breeder. Stock bulbs, might get a set of Pheonix 14ks in a few months.
