hi there...im sure this has been asked but whenever i try to search it wont let me due to high server load. I was just curious what everyones opinion was on a good protein skimmer. Im on somewhat of a limited budget (arent we all)....but i dont want to waste money on crap that will have to be replaced in a couple months...i just noticed on ebay there are quite a few skimmers for rediculous low prices....but they are not euro reefs, or any big brands ive heard of. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

jeremy

An octopus skimmer would do well for your 90 gallon tank. Heres a link to a site with good prices.

I have a Euro Reef es5-2 that i've been using for my 110 gal reef for 5 years and would never go to anything else...imo. "you get what you pay for" . other people have diffferent choices that they like though.

I was just looking at octopus NW110. I am building a 75g with 20g sump. Does anyone have suggestions about the size of skimmer needed? Is it worth the extra money to go bigger (NW150 or NW200)? Or is the 110 sufficent.

I would go with the NW-200, it should perform well enough to handle the system and isn't too much more money. The extra size of the NW-200 is going to be really nice for producing skimmate on your tank.

Agreed with the 200....you'll be much happier with the extra money spent. Premium aquatics has the best price and service imo.

I have the 110 on my 65. Go with the 150 or 200. You will be dissapointed with the 110, I am.
