Could someone tell me or have help me find pics to identify acro crabs that are good and those that are bad??
I have two in a new colony i just got and one is white with a black mask and i'm pretty sure that one is ok after doing some research, but the other is a hairy one and is a little orangish brown and just a little bigger thant the white one but still about the size of a dime.
Should i try to get it out?? and if so, what's a good way??
I'll try to post some pics when i get out of work, but i couldn't really get a good picture of it, only like a claw and an eye

I typically remove all hairy crabs. They have a history of eating the acros. If the crab isn't hairy, it doesn't concern me as much.

thanks!
I have both of those in the pics. I will attempt to get the hairy one out but i just added the colony to my tank and i want to let it acclimate before i pull it out and mess with it too much. I'll post some pics of what it looks like when i get it out, if i can get it out :)
here is what the colony looks like, in the top right of the pic....
ignore the lobo just below it, i know it looks bad, but i got it from a friend who's tank was failing and it was completely white with a little pink. It has come back significantly, but over a period of about 2 months. i would give it another two months before it's completely healed. Then it's coming out of my tank! :bum:

P.S. I got this colony for $30 and it was a little browned out, but was under poor lighting. as soon as i put it in my tank i got full polyp extension and the tips are already getting purple.
Any I.D. 's on this?? I think it's a bottlebrush of some sort. Need to look into it more.

I'd take it out asap because these little buggers munch on it's polyps and my experience is that in a couple of weeks time they can cause considerable damage to your coral..
pretty bad and blurry shot, but still visible damage it did to my Milli in 3 weeks time..
