Thank every one of you that has helped me so far. OK I had been wanting to put a dwarf lion in my 55 that I am setting up as a reef, but you all have made me see the light. can you all give me some kind of advice on what kinda fish to have? I really like clowns but I have to stay with one famly right? Cant go normals and also black perc. can you? Well I least want to have 2 clowns in there but I dont know what else would even be good to go with. I been reserching the heck outa predetor reefs never peacefull reefs? Woud a coral beauty or flame angel be to mean for a peacefull reef set up? Any and all help will be good to hear.
Please if at all possible I really would like to have shrimp and other inverts in there. That is the part that I wanted about the tank when me and my wife started to set this up be since she is funding most of it and since she wanted a lion I havent been able to study much on inverts.
If anyone wants to know about my yank setup please see my other thread at: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1061085&perpage=25&pagenumber=1

Thank you
Michael

I don't know about mixing clowns. I have three but they are all false percs. The one to stay away from would be the maroons. I've heard they can be nasty. I also have a flame angle and a psudocromis. I would gladly rid myself of both given the chance. I wouldn't call either one "aggressive" but they both are very picky about the other fish. They regularly chase the other fish and both have picked up on the fact that the dartfish is terrified of them. Needless to say I only see her on very rare occasions.

If I had it to do over I would nix the above two, stick with clowns, chromis, dartfish, gobies and possibly a tang.

Michael - You seemed to quickly drop the idea of a lionfish. I just wanted to point out in this thread that many people DO keep dwarf lionfish in reefs. More importantly, if this is the only fish that really interests your significant other, I'd suggest you really consider it. You can build a system around one, just need to have a smaller species and, in a 55, only one would likely work better.

As for clownfish, one species per tank is usually best unless it is huge. There is also a chance (50/50) with dwarf Angelfish nipping corals.

Well I am really not wanting to drop the lion for other fish, but like I said I would like to have some stuff moving around in the tank. I would love to have my antenate lion and more small fish. If I do end up getting a lion it will be a baby. But if it is going to eat everything in site then it would probly be a better idea to not get it. I have set my rock work up with crazy hiding spots for smaller fish. I was hoping to go with some clowns, dartfish, and I really want a lawnmower goby. I love how the munch all the time. I stand at work for hours at a time watching them little biggers eat.
