I'm looking for a macro lens for my girlfriends canon S2 IS camera. I don't know anything about lenses. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thankyou

I have the S1 IS and the lens is not removeable, and I don't think the lens come off the S2 or S3 models, in the SLR sense

What you can do is get a magnification filters and additional lenses that screw onto the existing lens.

There is a closeup lens available, Canon Model 500D, which might be useful.

Thanks for the input. The manual says that you can remove the ring on the front and it has threads for a lens. I just dont know what the hell im doing lol.

All you need to do is find out what size the lens thread is and then you can purchase close-up screw-on lens that will fit it.

I have an S2 IS as well. You need a tube adapter before you can start attaching lenses. I bought one along with the Hoya Close up macro set. I'm pretty happy about it. I PM'd you websites where you can find them because i'm not sure if I can post them here.

I agree with above post, I take 90% of my pics of my corals with my s3 on Hoya lenses.

Take a look at Lensmate Online (http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/S2macro.html). They make their own lens adapters (very nice) and have sample pictures taken with different lenses. I had one of their lens adapters on my S2 and I was very happy with it.
