lit vs unlit live rock

Does anyone know if - as far as biological filtration goes- it makes a difference if live rock is under lighting or not. Would 50 lbs of live rock in an unlit sump provide the same biological filtration as 50 lbs of live rock in the main display tank?

Yes. The bacteria which provide the biological filtration don't care whether there is light or not.

Thanks, I figured it probably was, but never actually read it anywhere. Just wanted to know before I plan a large sump.
