compare 6x65watt pc wth 2x150watt MH, which one would give better lighting on LPS corals???

Ya, PCs are really not all that efficient. Although bulb and ballast choice will matter for both setups.

so let's say if i change from 390watt pc to 300watt MH, i should expect better result with less watt ?

don't forget though 2X150W ( depending on the ballast ) is most likely more than 300w of input electricity so really it is not likely to be any significant less wattage if your looking for any potential electricity savings.

When I used a 3X150W AB Aquaspacelight when measured on a watt meter it was a little over 600w for the 3 MH so really they used a tad of 200w each. This wasn't electonic ballast but just an example that you can't judge wattage by the output.

the ab probably also has the added inefficiency of using transformers to step 110 up to 220 so they can use the same ballasts they do in europe (or at least my 2x250 did).

no question, Metal Halides. Corals color up much better under Metal Halides than PC's in most cases
