I have a 20H tank that I need a chiller on. I am running an ehiem 2213 on the tank. I am looking at Prime Mini In-line Chillers 1/15 HP. The only thing I am concerned with is the noise and the flow rate. The chiller says 300/600 for min and max flowrate. My filter does'nt have that kind of flow. Is it still ok or do I need to get a bigger filter or a different chiller?

I am also looking at this chiller because it has a lower flowrate but I would like to have some room to get a bigger tank.

106/160 is the min max for this ones flowrate. Its a Nano-Arctica Titanium Chillers 1/20 HP.

Please help me find a chiller. As mentioned above my main concerns are noise (this will be in my bedroom) and the flowrate of my filter.

Thanks guys.

I should probably mention this is not for a salt tank. It is for a freshwater crystal red shrimp tank. They are very temp sensitive and need to stay around 73F. I live in arizona and cooling the whole house like that during the summer is just to expensive.

Look at the PCI chillers (Pacific Coast Imports) I had one of there smaller ones and it was dead silent when running. As for the flow, if you do not have enough water moving through the chiller it will cycle on and off alot and lose it ability to cool the water. The proper flow rates are important.

What about a probe type one for in the tank?

most the probe type I have seen are constantly on and you need a seperate controller to monitor the temp and turn it on and off

this one looks promising. The flow rate is correct and its quite a bit cheaper to at 189. It says it can pull the temp down 10F in 20gallons. Will this work or should I get something bigger with some overkill just in case.

Just dont get a Current. They loose power just after about a year and they greatly over rate it on how many gallons it can cool.

I ended up going with the Nano-Arctica Titanium Chillers 1/20 HP. Thanks for the help.
