I was in today and picked up 3 zoanthid frags - within one hour of placing them in my tank they were all completely open and thriving - very nice! What's the base that they are attached to? Do people typically try and remove some of the base so it's not so unnatural looking? I'm sure overtime the base will become encrusted with coraline algae, but just wondering what others have done/are doing?
Many thanks! Hopefully I will be back in next Saturday.

Glad to hear they are happy in the new home, and you are very welcome. As for the base they are attached to are the Boston Aqua Farms frag disks. Some people would leave it on the disk and pu it in the desired location and just let the zoas, or what ever coral is attached, encrust and cover the disk and will be unnoticeable over time while others would either nip away at the disk or plug with a pair of cutters or break the frag off it if it is not growing on to the plug yet and place or glue it to the existing rock work.
