I would like to eventually take out my H. Crispa out of my 55 gallon tank one day and put in a cube all by itself. I want to keep it in a cube where it won't feel too cramped up but I want it to be the only photosynthetic invertebrate in there. My stocking list would be my two Clarkiis, my H. Crispa and like two shrimp. I would have liverock and sand. My questions is, what would be the biggest cube I could have with this lighting that would sustain my H. Crispa?

The lighting is a Sunpod 150 watt HQI lighting system with a 14 K bulb. It has 8 lunar led lights.

This is my H. Crispa

Tell me what you guys think.

I would go somewhere in between a 30-50. No higher than that because it will get too deep for that light to penetrate to the bottom where that anemone will be living.

That's what I was thinking too. I was thinking about a 30-40 gallon. I know my Crispa gets a ton of "whitish-yellowish" light and I don't want to upset it by putting it in a deeper tank with a higher spectrum bulb.

GMSguy, do you think a H. Crispa will outgrow a 30 gallon breeder?

I have seen very large Crispas out there and couldn't imagine one being in a 30 gallon breeder so to say.

yea well without a big sump it would take up alllot of the system volume but i think 150w might be lacking after it is that big as well

my 50g is taller but it has a big center brace and the oceanic 58RR is to tall i think ?
40 br isnt much different

36x36 would be the perfect size i would say

i would say 40Br and a 20L sump and you should be ok for a while 2 or 3 years. Its what about 12 3 inches now?
what size tank is the biggest you can go with?

what size tank is the biggest you can go with? Its about 12-13 inches depending how infalted it is during the day. I bought it in October when it was only only 3 inches in diameter.
