can anyone who has his pump tell me the thickness of the magnet that goes outside the tank? Need to know if it will clear obstructions I have behind tank. thanks.

Its pretty dang thin, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 inch max, it uses suction and magnets.

With the suction cup attached its just under 5/8" total.
