How much flow do I need for a frag tank that is 15"x15"x 14" tall. Adds up to around 15 gallons. I have around 50 gph on it right now with an overflow back into my sump and main tank display. Do i need to up my flow??

the more the better...but it's also going to depend on your tank. if you have sand in it for example it may only take so much flow before the sand starts to get stirred up.

I am doing mainly softies, polyps, and mushrooms. I do not have sand though. Would sand be needed since it is tied into my main tank and sump/fuge? Tank is 37 gallons, fuge is 10 gallons, lighting is on reverse cycle.

I don't think you need sand, IMO that is certanly enough flow especially since there are no SPS

i agree now that you've mentioned only softies then your good with what you have...but as a suggestion try to make your setup as universal as possible. later you may want to add sps and you would need more flow.

for sps you want lots and lots of flow. how much is really going to depend on your tank what is in it and also how it is laid out. but again the more the better as long as your corals can take it and from what you can observe. am example of what i'm talking about is i've got a 33g that is sps dominated and i've got 1300gph flowing in it from the return to different powerheads. so the tanks water is turned over about 40 times in an hour. i've seen some tanks that turn over 100 times in an hour.

the difference again is what your tank (the things in it) can handle.
