I'm wondering what acclimation I should use for my 90g tank and SPS, I'm going from 4x54w T5 Icecap setup on a 12 hour photo period to a 2x250w PFO HQI/14k Phoenix setup. I would prefer to not use screen so can I just reduce my photoperiod and work up to 12hrs??

Sure reduce it to 8 hours and work up from there. If you notice any lightening of colors than just reduce it to 6 hours although I think you will be fine. Make sure your water params are good and go for it…

You can also cover the top of your tank with a few peices of screen. Removing one every few days until you are at full light.

If this is not your first coral what about the others? Will they suffer from lack of light?

The corals will be fine. Often times in nature corals won't get light for days during a heavy storm or example.

I dunno, that sounds like a bleaching possibility to me. I'd start the corals down nice and low in your tank, and move them up over the course of a couple weeks.
I'm seeing dragonforce and killswitch engage next weekend :D

How long should we use this screen over the light?
