View Full Version : Fragging yellow leather coral?

I have a yellow leather coral in my main tank and wanted to know if its ok to frag it and how to do it? Thanks

If you can take it out of the tank to frag it would be best. Cut a few wedges out of the bell of the leather. Use the tooth pick method or sew it to a rock. Some people place in a cup with crushed coral and put veil over it to trap in cup. In a week or so it will attach to some of the rocks and that allows you to clue it to a rock. Hope this helps.

You can have quite a few frags out of that. Just cut one of the arms off and frag it into 4 or five nice pieces. Tank looks great!

My understanding is that unlike most leathers, the yellow Fiji leathers do not tolerate fragging well. Just what I've heard. Anyone with good experience with this the yellow Fiji leather?
