how do i add kent's liquid calcium to my tank?

it says add 1/4th to 1 teaspoon everyday.

so do i add that directly to the sump or over the course of the day?

That's a calcium chloride supplement. It'll be fine. This calculator will help pick a dose, once you've run a calcium test:

The directions on the label are primarily for people who don't test calcium. That approach is risky, in my opinion, and I don't do that.
