My tank is really cloudy, its not milky so its not Ca, and its not particles floating around.

This got really bad yesterday after adding doing a small 5 gallon water change using tapwater (what I have been using up until this morn). The tank is a 125 gallon by the way. At the same time as the water change I fiddled with the return pump plumbing and overfed them cyclopeeze on accident. The cloudiness is white so I figured it wasnt because of the overfeeding.

To try and solve this I got a new sock and filled it with rinsed clear activated carbon. This got rid of the smell from the tank, but the cloudiness is still there.

Just now I did a 30 gallon WC with RO/DI water and took out the sock with carbon and put in a thicker sock.

I tested the levels in the tank too

ammonia=0
nitrite=0
nitrate=0
dkh=9
Ca=520 (even though this is high, it can't bee this b/c it has always been high)

The day before yesterday the tank looked fine, not crystal clear, but good.

The tank is relatively new, it was started at the beginning of Jan.

What is going on? What should I do?

Thanks

thats what i was told on another forum who has seen it a ton of times

I was told to use Marine Tank Clarifier by Coralife

He said that the bloom was nothing to worry about and that this would fix it

I'd try the Clarifier and see what happens. Should help if it's a bacterial bloom.
