Hello all! I am going to be running a 6x39 watt t-5 set-up on my 65, and need some info-
One, do I really need to use a seperate reflector for each bulb?! It just seems like so much to buy, 6 36" reflectors...
Also, where is the best, and cheapest, place to get t-5 endcaps?
Reflectors?

Thanks alot, in advance!-Adam Hoyt

I think the individual reflectors are highly recommended, especially for T5 bulbs since they are so narrow. You should get quite a bit more light into your tank w/ the SLR.

Take a look at www.reefgeek.com and www.specialty-lights.com for the reflectors and endcaps.

studies have shown thats what makes the t5s so nice is the reflectors. otherwise your basically almost back to a normal pc lamp.

SLRs nearly double the lighting intensity under T5s, and are the key to making the system work. Think of it this way, would you rather run 6 w/reflectors, or run 12 w/o reflectors for the same intensity? :D

I have used reefgeek as well to order T5 kits/bulbs.

I went through Reefgeek and purchased a complete retro kit. Been working great so far.

Tek II fixtures/reflectors are making great claims in this dept. Check them out. I haven't tried them but plan on getting some asap.
