I'm in the final stages of researching tank prices and have some $ quotes for my next tank. The dimensions will be 96 x 48 but am unsure of wether I should go 25 tall or 30 tall. The price difference for a 30 inch tall tank is about $1500 more than the 25 inch tall tank. I can't really reach the bottome of a 30 inch tank but I've heard that the extra height looks better.

Give me some input here please!

30 especially with that length. Otherwise it will look odd. 28 would be ideal.

I would think 28 would be ideal as well... I have a hard time reaching the middle bottom of my 30" deep tank at 44" wide.

I have a 120x36x30 and if I could I would have gone 120x48x34 and added a sand bed

IF you know you can't work on a 30" tall tank.....isn't your question already answered?
I personally would go 24"-27". In my opinion tall tanks look odd.

I can tell you one thing, mine is 36" and I hate working around in it. I even have the longest aqua tongs. It's a PITA. But they're right, go with 30 for it to look proportionate.

I would go 25", I don't like the look of tall tanks, and like you said yourself it is a PITA to work on, also the extra 1500.00 could go towards something else.

I think the extra 5 inches would look nice but I just can't see shelling out an extra $1500 for it! I think that's money that could be spent on other stuff. Now I just have to figure out what to spend the $ on!:D

No regrets on my 30". You should keep your hands out of the tank anyway. I think I would regret 36".

Could you go somewhere between 25 and 30 and still save a few bucks or do you have to pick between the two? I personally went with 28" H on my current tank and that is as high as I would go.
