View Full Version : How high up are your MH's from tank?

Just curious. I have my canopy ~12'' up. I was thinking of lowering it 6'' but just worried about more evap.

Mine are about 8" off the water with an open top tank. What size of tank and how many watts?

The glass is about 6" above the water surface.
I would lower it but the spread will be tiny :)

about 7 inches off the water here. i get alot of splashing on my bulb so i have to clean it alot.

Mine are about 6-7" .. wish they were higher. I have burned myself on them before .. not fun!

I have my aquamedic light in a wooden canopy 7 inches way from my tanks water.

I have a hamilton 3x 250x 10k mh and 3 165vhos and i sit the canopy right on the tank of course on top of glass tops otherwise i woudl ahve to raise it up but the bulbs are about 5 inches maybe 6 above the water

mine are anywhere from 6 to 8 inches.
