Should I put something between tank and stand?

7x2x2 acrylic tank,oak stand. Do you put something between them?

sheet of pink styro-foam,i know for glass this is used for acrylic im not sure.

How thick a piece?

not sure but im pretty sure its the stuff home depot or lowes sells,Its maybe 1 inch.there are some threads here that mention it if you can get the search function to work,HTH,

Anyone know if an acrylic tank needs this since it is flush with the stand?

I have seen the foam used for tanks that are talked about in the large reef tanks forum. These are tanks that are acrylic bottoms and even the PVC bottoms. I have always wondered why thou.
