After doing the test Salifert test for Ca., I have 0.4 in my syringe. How does that translate to step 6 calcium table "reading in Ml's"??

Is this a good reading:rolleyes: ?

ETA;

That would be between 0.08 and 0.10?

That would give me a reading of 455ppm?

:D I'm probably way off:confused:

ETA AGAIN;

0.4 X 500 = 200ppm???

200 ppm sounds about right, I think. I don't have the chart with me, but the syringe needs to be much closer to empty for a good Ca level.

the full shringe (1 ml) accounts for 500 ppm.
So in the scale a reading of .1 ml calls for 50 ppm
In other words if you have left 0.1 of liquid in the shringe you have used 0.9 ml x 50 that is 450 ppm.
The noemal range of 400 to 450 translates to have left in the shringe liquid between 0.1 and 0.2 (used 0.8 to 0.9 ml)
If you have 0.4 of liquid left then your level is low at 300 ppm (0.6x50)

Okay, I just did a water change. I'll re-test tomorrow.
