Hi

Will your 1676 Bio Reactors and accociated components process Nitrate as well as Amonia and Nitrite.

Also will 2 x 6045 Nano Streams (on std timers 15min cycle on/off) be suitable for a 65 gallon reef tank if not would you recomend more/less or 6025's.

Thanks

The 3179 is the best choice for this but it requires a 3166 or 3167 to supply prefiltered water, the deep bed of filtration removes nitrates biologically. The 1676 can do this as well but the system filters are not something we stock in the US and they are being slowly phased out as they are more than 30 years old. They also require a filter to provide a slow trickle of filtered water.

2 6045's would be fine for anything but a full blown SPS tank of that size. Longer delays would be preferred but 15 minutes is acceptable.

Thanks Roger,

I have mostly Ocean Rock in my 3 year old system with an external filter which needs alot of looking after and constant water changes to keep the nitrate down. I am going to add a sump but due to the design of the stand it can only be 11" high. I have manged to aquire the 1676 and 0853 which are ideal for the sump size and which appear easier to maintain than my external. I was trying to avoid a complete stripdown and rebuild with Live Rock so not to stress the animals but this may be the way I have to go.
