hermit crab question

i have a blue knuckle hermit in my tank and he does work (he is always moving around) and a have 2 red scarlett hermits....

the scarlett never come out with is that....are they scared

i mean they come out of the shells but they dont ever come out on the rocks and clean

They are shy, and they are nocturnal.
