I found 48" 2 x 54W Tek Light T5 Retrofit - SPECIAL!!!
$118.95

From Hellolights >

My question, If I get 2 orders > 4x 54w > would that be enough for a FOWLER that will eventually have some SPS in it?

You could definitely keep SPS with 4. Just keep them mid to high. Honestly, I believe flow and stability are more important. They'll thrive with that light, tons of flow, and stable parameters.

One of the guys on our local reef club page just switched both his 180 and 90 to T5's from halides. Amazing color. has SPS and clams with no problems.

I agree though. Keep SPS mid to hi in tank, and I'd go with 4x54w bulbs. It'll look great with a mixed spectrum of bulbs.

I recently purchased a Tek T5 6 bulb X 48" fixture for my 75. I feel totally confident keeping just about any SPS or Clams under it. In fact, my Acropora Valida is showing signs of getting too much light. I'm going to move it deeper in the tank in the next couple days. A. Valida is one of the lesser light demanding Acros though.
