Condy's - experiences

My tank currently has a peppermint shrimp and live rock. My brother wants to take down his fish tank and give me his condy, I told him I think I read they sting the crap out of anything, clowns don't host them, they can and arn't for reef tanks but maybe fish only tanks (they move around). Was I right?

Any insight on these condys will be great, passed experiences with them.

sounds like you know the important info already.

a condy can grow to the size of a volleyball or bigger. their sting is powerful, and they have no problem moving around = bad news all the way around.

I had a beautiful pink one early on. it dominated about 1/3 of a 55long. it ended up in the freezer as it was just out of control, and who wants one? they are basically "pimp-my-aiptasia" and shouldn't even be sold by savvy reef LFS's

i have seen clowns host with conds before (very rare though)
i have seen them added to fish only tanks as "a cheap filler to spice up the tank"
yes they do like to move wherever they want to
