My carbonate hardness is about 170 mg/L.

Is this high KH something to be worried about?

Been adding Kent Marine Super Buffer and Kalkwasser.

Ph is 8.2 but Ca is also on the high side, about 500.

I have a water change coming up so that will bring it down but should I back off the supplements.

Oh, I useOceanic salt too and I heard that has high Ca.

TIA

I believe the recommended level is 125-200 mg/l (ppm) = 2.5--4 meq/l

That's fine zooty. Nothing to worry about with those readings.

Yes, Oceanic has high levels of calcium. Last I tested (not too long ago) Oceanic at 1.0265 came in at about 580 calcium, 8.5 dkh alk and a whopping 1650 magnesium.

That said, some folks (who's tanks consume a lot of calcium) like this salt. Calcium of 500 is not earth shattering but unnecessary as around 420 would be the more preferred target.

170 mg/l ( or ppm) is about 9.5 dkh which is smack dab in the middle of the recommended range.

If your tank cannot consume all the calcium Oceanic gives, I would suggest maybe trying Reef Crystals. It slides in at about 420 ppm cal, 12 dkh and 1260 mag.

Thanks for the response.
My test kit said in case of high levels to contact an aqurium expert.

Anyway, the Ca should be good too with my corals

Thanks again
