What is a good fixture for my new 120 48x24x24? I am not going to have a conopy so I would like something that looks nice with 2x 250 mh and maybe some t5. I was leaning to the maristar from sunlight supply but that particular fixture is almost 4 years old and I know lots of new stuff has come out since. Please give any opinions and suggestions

Maristar is nice, the Giesemann is even nicer if you're willing to drop $1500. If you're on a budget the Aquamedics are nice too.

Aquarium Obsessed has some sfiligoi fixtures that run $2k+ with dimmable metal halide ballasts.

Which model of the Geisemann would you recommend? I am having a hard time finding information on them.

They are both very nice though I would also check out lumenarc mini's and two 250 watt ARO eletric ballasts for price consideration especially sense you should have some extra room to play because of the t-5's. Canopy or no canopy?

Here is some great reading-

Here you go. (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GM-250-263-K&Category_Code=Giesemann) Very nice, but pricey.

8x54w t-5 by tek-light. it is affordable, around 500 with bulbs. alot of light for cheap with lots of bulb options. not my fantasy light but it gets the job done. it is somewhat pleasing to the eye on an open top tank.

I have 2 of these, I get par readings of 600+ on the bottom of the tank:

Very well made. I got them with Iwasaki 175w 15k bulbs.
