Easy---it's in the lighting section at any hardware. It's that lighting grid that goes into dropped ceilings. It has an up and a down [ask] and get the white stuff, as a rule: the silvered might be a problem.

can you spray paint it black, or is it bad for the tank?

I found whole sheets for 10 cents at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Memphis!!

DO NOT SPRAY PAINT!!!!!! That would be bad and most likely KILL everything in your tank!

If you can find a local acrylic shop or fabrication business, they usually have the Black Egg Crate. Its a little smaller (thickness wise) then the white and a little more expensive.

I don't think you would have a problem spray painting it with krylon fusion paint. Once its dry you are good to go. There are several threads about using this paint with no ill effects.

Just got a sheet of the white egg crate from Lowes.

I would have never found it if I didn't ask for help. I checked in the lighting area, the insulation area but it ended up being over near the plexi-glass where all the doors are.

If you don't find it browsing around you should probably ask for help. I would have never found it if I didn't. I had a picture of what I was looking for since a picture speaks a thousand words.

Just passing the info along.

Dont worry about painting it, it will be purple in a few months.

Just curious, how much was it at Lowe's? I recently purchased a sheet at Home Depot and I couldn't believe that it was $12bucks! Maybe that's the norm for it but I always thought eggcrate was ~$5.

Nope, eggcrate tends to go for $11-12 per sheet.
