In my 120 Gallon algae and cyno is becoming a real battle. I know the problem to be over feeding. I have battled the wife to quit feeding the "cute little puffer that always looks to be hungry". The puffer seems to have her wrapped around his fin with his poor pleading feed me stares. Right now the tank is BB. Would it benefit the tank to go ahead and add a 5 inch sand bed? I currently do 2x 20 gallon water changes a month, have a skimmer, and I have a fuge with cheato. I just added a phosphate reactor to help. I am afraid I would have to cut back on my flow with sand though. I currently have 2 Korilia model 4s, 1 seio 1100, and one modded MJ 1200 that puts out a ton of flow. Will sand help in my battle?

The tank houses a fox face, puffer, lawnmover blenny, humu trigger, and baby snowflake eel. Snails and crabs usually just become expensive food.

Thanks
