I want to store some rock in a tank for a couple of months before I move. Should this be okay?
Thanks,
Mike

i think you it would be hard to fit 100lbs of sand, let alone rock. i loaded up my 20g with rock so that it could cure for by 55g, and all i could manage was like 60 lbs, but even with the void spaces in between the rock in there, i wouldnt have reached anywhere near 100 lbs.
100lbs in a 20g? No chance. Go by Wal-Mart or Target and grab a large Rubbermaid container to store the rock instead. Just remember to keep a powerhead going in there and do a water change every so often.

Nah hit up the local Tractor Supply Store and get a water tub, any where from 60 - 150g rubbermade, they are much more sturdy and cheaper.. anyway Wal-Mart stinks :)

I know this is OT, but why does Wal-mart stink?

You could also get a 44g grey brute from Lowes or HD. they are about 50bux or so.

I used one of those kiddie-pools for a month before It sprung a leak :)
Next time I'll lay something on the bottom so that doesn't happen :P

No way can you do it. Go to Home depot and buy some rough neck tubs I got 5 18g tubs for $4 each.

What about all the coralline coverage? Should I be worried about that or somehow get some lighting over the rubbermaid bin?
