It depends on your application. For a high pressure application like a airstone skimmer, you'll need a Luft (sp?) pump which you can get from drsfostersmith.com and other online retailers. If you are injecting air into a venturi, then any cheap air pump will work from your local LFS or aforementioned online retailers.

I use a Superluft (coralife) pump for my recirc NW skimmer. Tuning that darned venturi was too much a hasstle.

The pump you use should not only depend on the pressure required, but also (and equally importantly) the flowrate of air you need. Research how much air your pump (if needle wheel type) can handle and then buy an airpump that can supply at least that much air. You can always bleed off some air if you have too much but it's better to have too much than too little.
