GSP need advice

I am just starting to get into corals. I purchased a beautiful GSP. It has been in the tank for about a month and it is triving. In the last couple of days I have notice that there is this long dark green almost brown strings growing out of it. So much that you dont see the polyps anymore. Is this green hair algae? Should I pull it out? Or is this something that they do from time to time? My parms are great and stays steady. My phos are not detectable.Thanks for your help

Need pics, but if whatever it is needed to be gone. You should have only GSP, with nothing in between.

FYI keep those GSP on a rock island so they don't take over.
