Roger,
Is the hole in the back of the 9010 skimmer supposed to be plugged? It's about the same level as the water line mark. I have the skimmer set up for in sump use.

Don't plug it, it is supposed to be there.

You can plug it with the water level run below the hole by a couple inches but it does tend to result in more erratic performance. It is critical when used in tank.

I think this needs to be stickied soon...........this has got to be asked weekly !!!! I know I asked this when I got my first 9005.
What do you think Roger ???
Since the search feature rarely works........the "hole question" should warrant a sticky !

Anyway.......... When using the 900? with the sump kit........you can plug the hole, so you wont get that annoying, dripping, running water sound. It doesnt seem to affect performance at all in my opinion. When using the 900? inside the tank........the hole needs to be left open.

Later..........Herbie

I don't disagree but it is kind of like listing your hours in the yellow pages, people still call to ask if you are open. Not sure if it will be very effective and I just had a lot of articles unstickied because the top of the forum had become a bit cluttered. I will see if I can compose an FAQ on the skimmers.
