I wrote an earlier thread about my alkalinity being high.(7-8meq/l) It looks like all my other water parameters are in decent spec
ammonia 0- 0.25
Nitrate2.5-5 ppm
nitrite 0.05 ppm
I have brown polyps that dont want to open and a kenya tree that has turned into a bush. Please any suggestions on what to look for would be appreciated

Dont have a test kit, will need to get one and check will the high alkalinity eat up the calcium??

I'm not sure that is always the case. I have a high Alk too, 14dkh, but my Calcium is 440.

I'd love some input on this too. My Alk is high 6, but my Calcium is low 300. How to lower Alk and raise Calcium?!

6 dkh for alk is low 7-11 is the recommended level
so you're gonna want to raise both

unless you're speaking in another unit other than dkh

Birdbait-
Are you using tap water, or well water, or RODI?
I was using well water, then tested the alk and it was very high.
I'm looking into a RODI unit now, until theni'm getting my water from the Store

Agree water not perfect, Have been doing 10% water change every week. I have been told that distilled water is okay to use and is what I'm using. Any other suggestions

Distilled water quality can vary...I would go w/ an RO/DI unit personally.
