Ok I need some help getting the right amount of flow in my 150 gallon FOWLR. Reefers say to have 20x turnover but that is a little much for a FOWLR tank right??? like how much turnover is required in a 150 gallon???
My sump/refuge pump will be a quite one 4000 which i believe pumps 1100gph. With 3-4 feet of head I would say i'm getting 800gph. Plus I have some more equipment. I have 3 Aqua Clear 110's HOB which each pump 500gph and I have 1 Aqua Clear 70 powerhead which pumps 400gph. I was curious..... the 110's HOB pump 500 gph but use 14watts of power while the 70 powerhead uses 20watts of power and only gives me 400 gph. If I run lets say the sump pump and 2 Aqua Clear 110's will that be enough flow??? that would be 1800gph which equals 12x turnover. What do you guys think??? I wanna cut on hydro a bit so I'm trying to be efficient.
Another question I have is, is it really true if I put two heaters in my sump I will actually use less hydro then running one because it will run a lot less???
