I am in the market for a controller. I do not plan on having my diagnostics go to a web page, but I would like to control my lights and temp for sure.

What type of controller are you using and what are you controlling with it? Thanks

get the AC Jr with D8, you can control up to 8 things, including lights.

I used RK and AC Jr, sold my RK....AC Jr all the way. Very easy to program.

I have a Octopus and a AC JR. Go with the Neptune.

it does x-10 also.

Like the look and feel of the Octopus but you have more control over the temperature of your tank with the Neptune. You can do such things as turn on your hood fans if the tank reaches a certain temp. You can shut off your halides if it gets a little toasty. You can't do that with a Octopus.

I don't know much about the Neptune, but the Premuim Aquatics Lighthouse is awesome! It does have the web site connection but you do not have to use it. Mine controls my actinics and halides separately, maintains my temperature within a 1.5° range and has ports for my pH probe. Check it out on their site.

Thanks for the feedabck. I guess I will need to see a couple locally to see if they are exactly what I am looking for,
I like the options of turning off my halides if it gets a little too toasty...

Mark,

the lighthouse also has a temperature shut off feature. If the temperature reaches a specified level, it turns off the halides and keeps the actinics on.

You can find the AC Jr. with temp probe and serial port for $90 at custom aquatics. That is an amazing deal if you are in the market for one.

I run an AC3. For your needs I think an ACJR with a single DC8 power strip will be perfect.
