We got this maze brain yesterday. You can't tell by the pic, but it's a blue/green color - a turquoise maybe. You also can't tell by the pic, but it's shaped like a balloon, the base is down in the rock. Any ideas on a scientific name? There's some recession at the base, so we weren't too worried about placing the base in the rock work. The recession looks pretty old though so we took a chance.

Just for kicks, here's a different pic, it gives a better idea of the shape - and I liked the reflections :)

The next were sold as acans of some sort, but I wondered if someone had more specific names, scientific and common would be great. The better looking one in the back we've had for about a month now, the closer one we got yesterday as well. Hopefully it will be nice and fat and growing new mouths shortly as well!

TIA!

Nice corals. The second photo is an acanthastrea echinata.

Thanks :)
Both are echinata? So I can expect the newest one to look like the other one as far as growth pattern? I like to know what to expect :)

Now I have to admit - I have two exact threads going because of a double post I didn't catch in time
