has anyone ever used this or is using it just wondering what you think of it and how it looks.

My neighbor had black sand in his reef tank. I didn't really care for the way it looked, but I guess that's why it was in his tank and not mine.

It looks great for a few days then you will be kicking yourself when detritus starts building up. The contrast between the black and any color makes for an ugly look IMO.

I saw a tank posted just yesterday with black sand and was really impressed with the way it looked. I don't know if it was a new or existing set up. If I come across it I'll come back and post it.

I have that in my 30g cube...before, I had it in my 12g AP.
I love it, it really makes the coral stand out. I am super lazy, but never had a problem with it looking bad because of build up or what ever.
