Hi guys,

Like the title says - have many of you grown a queen angel from juv. to adult? If so, I'd love to see pics of "how your flower has grown".

I am half thinking about getting a juv. queen for my new 240, but a couple of people have remarked that they do now develop the beautiful colours in captivity, and hance I would be better getting a small adult - but I do not want an adult for several reasons.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi there Sicklid,

I just took a look through your gallery - nice collection of fish you have there. Are all those angels in your 300 gal? Any trouble with them? Any recommendations?

Nice pics above by the way. Is that H.ciliaris or a hybrid? Its obviously not a blue (H.bermudensis) because of the crown, but otherwise looks remarkably similar - is it unusual to see a pure gold/yellow variant like this? I haven't come accross them that often.

Cheers,

Matt

Thanks guys,

Matt, the angel is just a yellow variant as far as I know. It was labeled as a Queen, but most all of the Queens locally here come from our offshore waters.

Yes, I have 4 large angels together, and they get along fine. The Blueface is the "King of the Tank", and everyone else eats after him, but there is no fighting. I got them all when they were young, and I think that was the key to success with them getting along. I have noticed that the Blueface, Majestic, and Emperor are omnivores, and the Queen is the vegetarian of the bunch.

Thanks Jim, I have really enjoyed the Fat Boy, but just don't get enough seat time. It's nice to ride along the ocean on A1A on warm sunny days here in Florida.

Take care,

Tom
