need a needle wheel mod for a berlin skimmer

I have just the boody for a Berlin HOB 25-250 skimmer. I would like to mod this for a needle wheel or something. I have no Idea where to start anybody have any links or sugestions. Here is what it looks like.

Is there anything you did along w/ adding the n.w. pump? Or was that just it? A fellow M.R. has that skimmer & we are looking for mods for it to save a few buck's.
