I thought I'd start a thread for this fish I just ordered from Diver's Den (liveaquaria). Have not received it yet. Has anyone ever kept one? I've never seen these kinds of colors on any of the images of the fish I have seen before. According to my reading, this is an exception to the genus Thallasoma in that it does not bury itself in the sand. Is that true?

Please let me know of any experiences or knowledge you have of this fish. I have never encountered it in a LFS. It is so cool looking. I have had great luck with Diver's Den, and am so pleased with their fish, but it is putting a major hole in my wallet!

I asked liveaquaria to send me the pic, since mine are never as good as theirs, and theirs are always an accurate representation. When I converted the file to pdf, it got turned around and grainy. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I am not too experienced with posting images.

When stressed they darken into that kind of blue when they start out like the regular white/black. That is darker than I had.

The one I had was mean which is common with this genus. When it would attack at one of my tiggers it would get dark too.

Thanks, Dan. I didn't know they were all that aggressive. I think (hope) the fish in my tank should be able to hold their own. Do you still have yours? I'll report back on the color and behavior, once I get it. I have gotten several fish from Diver's Den with really unusual coloration, and the pictures were a good representation of the color. I'm hoping this one is an unusual color morph, but I'll post about it.

Here is a pic of the one I had. I took it in eventually because it was harassing my triggers. It was regular color until it got mad and then it looked like a blue-headed wrasse.
