anyone know if this is a reef safe snail??? i seen it try to insert its long mouth inside other snails' shells. i think he was trying to eat them. maybe thats why it was in a fishtank all by itself at the petshop!!!

the snail is about an inch almost and it doest seem to want to touch any algae at all. when i feed them some shrimp, other species of snails seems to run like crazy from it!!!

i threw it in the sump for now, if anyone can give me some advice that would be great!!! thanks in advance

Looks like a type of whelk to me. Which will eat other snails. I dont know exact species or anything, but someone else might be able to point you in the right direction.

I'd leave it in the sump imo.

Yeah, that's a juvenile Melongena species, sometimes called a Crown conch, which isn't really a conch at all. It will eat other molluscs. See the post just below this regarding the fighting conch.
