just curious, thinking about setting up a small tank to try growing some coral. How long does it take for say an acroporas, lps, ect to grow, I would imagine it would be lit 24/7 with metal halides

You dont want to run your lights 24/7. There is no specific time as in at 3 months its supposed to be 4" larger. It has to do with flow, water quality, light, and many other factors. But some corals will grow faster then others

No, don't light the tank 24 / 7. 12 hours or less would be fine.

Under perfect conditions acros could easily grow 10cm per year.
