should I add it to my reef tank? it's small, about the size of a nickel. Will it kill my reef?

You can add it to your reef if you want to. No it will not kill your reef, but it has the potential other stinging corals and maybe killing them. You just have to watch were it moves to. That is one small RBTA.

yes it is a bta, because i posted it about a month ago with a photo, and everyone said it was.

And it's still the size of a nickle after a month? I would question if it's an RBTA if it hasn't grown after a month. Can you post another pic of it?

That looks like a RBTA to me.

Under good conditions they grow rapidly and split often. Mine split about three weeks ago and in less than two weeks the clone was bigger than a dinner plate same as the parent. The clone is the lower right part in the picture and is one week old here.

I had a piece that ripped off(it was attached to two rocks), small piece(size of a dime) was doing good. It was growing tentacles, and looked like it was forming a mouth before all my hermits got to it. They would rub their shell into it to lift the top and pinch at the bottom of the foot. It started moving to get away from the hermits and I never saw it again. I would say that looks like what mine looked like.

I had a GBTA, bought it smallish and within a couple of months it became so big that I had to sell it as it was stinging my corals and took up lots of space.

They can move a lot and reek havoc when they do. I am lucky, mine has settled on one rock and not moved for many months. I think having clowns hosting is important to keeping them in one spot. They are beautiful and worth the trouble IMO.

Feed it, it should be bigger.
