Just wondering if an A150 would be over-doing it for a 55 with a 20 L sump? I plan to run it externally. I'm using a stand that was originally built for a 75 gal so I would (barely) have room for an A150. Probably will be going with at least 4, maybe 5 fish.
I may eventually want to upgrade to a 135 some day and I think I could still use the A150 on that. It would be nice to buy one more and never have to buy another skimmer again.
If it would be overkill for the 55, I wouldn't have a problem going with the A110.

I don't think it would be overkill but then I will be putting a A250 2x1260 on a 240gal and I have a A200 3xF2001 on a 220gal. Going bigger now will save you headaches in the future since inevitably you will get the bigger tank in the future. I started with a 55 then went to 2x 120gal and now I have a 220gal and a 240gal and thats within 3 years.

I vote for the a110
if you go bigger in the future, sell the a110 and buy another skimmer

No need for A150 no matter how heavy your bioload is.

vessxpress1, I have talked to Ed at KMA Int'l about my 50g setup before buying my A110 skimmer and his opinion was that this was the smallest and best recirculating skimmer that I can get for my system. He didn't recommend an A150 unless I planned to do an upgrade in the near future. Then Ed is very conservative and he doesn't like to severely oversize a skimmer for any system. He believes it takes out the good stuff as well as the waste.
poppin_fresh, Your skimmer maybe undersized for your system. If you have this on your 366g, for sure, it is undersized. If you have it on your 180g, it might be borderline and slightly bigger might be a better fit.
