I recently got some 1 inch holes drilled into my sump tank to run PVC into. I also had an ADD moment when I told the shop people what size hole I wanted. Obviously a one inch PVC isn't going to fit into a one inche hole, the hole actually needs to be like one inch and 3/4's or so.

The lady at the shop told me glass is sandable.

So I'm assuming I could just get a dremel with a good sanding tip and just slowly round the hole out to a bigger size.

Sound plausible? I've never worked with glass before...

take it back and have it redrilled, you'll take ALL DAY sanding that much out. you also have to use diamond coated bits and LOTS of water to keep the glass cool or it'll crack when you're sanding.

Any glass shop worth the sign on its door should be able to open the holes for you... heck, I can do it with my cordless drill and diamond hole saws in less than 5 minutes! ;)

But because you made the initial mistake of ordering the holes too small, the shop is well within its rights to charge you for a re-drill.
