View Full Version : Harlequin Tusk Food
I have a new Harlequin Tusk fish and he seems a bit picky. What are their preferred foods?
Thanks.

Maybe mine is just still getting acclimated to my tank. He swims around like crazy and seems to be ignoring most of the food. I moved some of my fish from tank to tank and bought 2 new ones. In my 90 I now have a foxface, small yellow-tailed damsel, Clown Trigger ( 3 1/2 inch, new fish), and the harlequin ( 3 1/2 inch, new fish). You want to see a damsel change his disposition, add a clown trigger.
The clown trigger and the harlequin are my absolute favorite fish so I am really trying to keep everything under control with good water quality and proper food.

Feed it crustaceans like shrimps, crabs, etc. Mine eats mysis, flake, crabs, shrimp, and squid. A variety is best.

My Tusk wouldn't eat anything initially. 6mm spectrum pellets got him started, and now even eats veggies.

Day 2 and the Clown trigger is still a bit picky. The tuskfish has found preferred cave and it has been hiding out most of the time. It did come out and try and swallow a whole krill, but it was too big so I am not sure how much it actually ate.
How long did it take before your tusk became acclimated?
