What are some reasons a Malu would plant its self on a rock? On top of a huge colony of AE zoa's ontop of it all :mad2:

I thought they were "true" sand nem's.

Answer: it likes this spot best.

Not trying to be a smarty pants :) We have a crispa that has moved its foot behind the rockwork and I don't think is even touch sand at the moment. It hasn't perched on the rock, just stretches over it. We must have changed the flow more than we realized when we added more rock a week or so ago. Mine usually moves when it doesn't like the flow it's getting.

Another possibility - maybe it's a mislabeled nem, haven't seen it, so I have no idea.

Sorry about your zoa's :(
